Simple things
June 23, 2014 ~ I kept a journal during our son's three month hospitalization two years ago. Today's entry: "Still not eating or drinking. Siblings visited, but no real response. Later, the nurse called and said that he had actually had a glass of juice and was sitting up on the bed with his journal. He asked for a pen."
I'm touched now, two years later, at how profound the act of him asking for a pen was to me. He actually spoke! Miracle of miracles...... I've learned that every day we must look for little things to celebrate. I call them Ordinary Miracles. Have you had any Ordinary Miracles in your journey with mental illness? If so, please share them. They're very inspiring to the rest of us
